The bones of this farm were built to be hardy: natives, perennials, and shrubs that don't flinch at a late frost or a hot July. We've layered in thousands of bulbs, flowering trees, and two hedgerows planted with many varieties of lilac, quince, smokebush, mock orange, and ninebark. The orchard is settling in on the hillside alongside a full row of hydrangeas — Limelight, Pinky Winky, and Quick Fire among them.  I am always looking for unique varietals of perennials, both natives & hybrids, to add to my expansive cutting collection.
